UF-developed mRNA vaccine triggers fierce immune response to fight malignant brain tumor

In a first-ever human clinical trial of four adult patients, an mRNA cancer vaccine developed at the University of Florida quickly reprogrammed the immune system to attack glioblastoma, the most aggressive and lethal brain tumor.

Xzaviar Solone, M.S.

Xzaviar Solone, M.S., a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Cancer Biology Concentration, is the latest investigator featured in the UF Health Cancer Center’s Cancer Researchers on the Rise video series, which highlights young, promising cancer researchers at the University of Florida. His lung cancer research aims to understand the molecular regulation diving the association between LKB1 loss and onset of malignant aggressive behaviors.
