Jiang Bian, Ph.D., was appointed chief research information officer for UF Health. In this new capacity, Bian will focus on advancing the operations and governance of information technology in support of research activities across the UF Health enterprise, in close partnership with other senior leaders. He also will continue to serve as UF Health chief data scientist.

A HOBI research team co-led by Jennifer LeLaurin, Ph.D. and Kathryn Pluta, Ph.D., was selected for the 2023 Consortium for Cancer Implementation Science (CCIS) award program funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Pluta is a HOBI postdoctoral associate who works closely with Ramzi Salloum, Ph.D. He is serving as a mentor for this project along with Naykky Singh Ospina, M.D. The project supports the ongoing efforts of the CCIS to develop a collection of public goods to address key challenges and advance the implementation science agenda in cancer.

Linda B. Cottler, Ph.D., recently began her second term as president of the Board of Directors for the Association for Clinical and Translational Science (ACTS). Founded in 2009 to support the needs of the national Clinical and Translational Science Awards program, ACTS represents nearly 5,000 members who are involved in academic institutions, industry, philanthropic agencies and government. It supports multidimensional, cross-cutting research that encompasses multidisciplinary investigative teams from many subspecialty areas.
