About: The goal of the gathering is to provide Black men with prostate cancer and other Black men with information on prevention of prostate cancer and new treatments. In addition, the gathering aims to provide opportunities for Black men with prostate cancer and their families to share and learn ways to cope with the impact of this disease.

About: The UF department of radiation oncology’s 53rd Annual Research Seminar is an important venue that allows participants to define optimal treatment approaches, produce the best plans, employ first-rate techniques, provide healing experiences for our patients, assess outcomes and develop new treatment approaches, providing invaluable information to faculty and residents from several educational institutions. as well as professionals in private practice.

The 2023 keynote speaker will be Nancy Lee, M.D., FASTRO, vice chair of the department of radiation oncology, service chief of head & neck radiation oncology, and service chief of proton therapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

UF Cardio-Oncology Mini Symposium

About: The goal of this symposium, titled “Emerging Topics in Cardio-Oncology,” is to bring together UF faculty, staff and students with an interest in cardio-oncology to foster a collaborative environment that will lead to new projects and grant applications.

The symposium, which includes breakfast and lunch, features three external speakers who are experts in cardio-oncology and internal UF speakers who are researching cardio-oncology. Posters will be displayed during the symposium and a poster session will be held at the end of the sessions. The symposium is presented by the UF Health Cancer Center and the UF department of pharmacotherapy & translational research and Center for Pharmacogenomics & Precision Medicine in the UF College of Pharmacy.
