Giving back the gift of care
Tonya Ringo, R.N., C.S.O., is a registered nurse uniquely equipped to care for patients at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. She knows exactly what it’s like to be the chronically ill kid in and out of the doctor’s office. Her passion for helping children remains strong despite her own health challenges, including two battles with cancer.

Guogen Shan, Ph.D.
Guogen Shan, Ph.D., is a professor in the department of biostatistics in the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions. He earned his master’s degree and Ph.D. in biostatistics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He currently has a National Cancer Institute grant to develop novel adaptive randomized designs for cancer clinical trials with a binary endpoint.
